Did you know in the United States, more people are diagnosed with skin cancer each year than all the other cancers combined? (Skincancer.org)
We may all enjoy our time off school/work a little differently but one thing is certain, there is no escaping the harmful ultraviolet radiation our sun provides. 🌞
No matter if you are planning a vacation to the beach, adding some spring flowers to your garden or enjoying a stroll down to your neighbors house, the sun will be generously shining down those harmful rays onto your skin.
So.. what can you do about it? Actually, it’s simple but people don’t realize how harmful the sun really is, so they chose to ignore proper skin care.
Did you know, in the United States, one person dies every hour from Melanoma - the most lethal skin cancer?
Seriously, proper skin protection is so important. Let's do something about it!
Honestly, the BEST way to protect yourself from sunlight damage that may potentially cause skin cancer is to cover your skin! Large sun brim hats, flowy and light long sleeve pants and shirts are definitely the way to go.
If it’s too hot for long sleeves, you have so many options of sunblock!
Here is my favorite, commonly recommended in dermatology offices. It can be pricy so truly, SPF 30 is what you want to stick with and applying the lotion once is not enough. Get in the habit of massaging the sun screen onto your skin about 30 minutes before you go outside and reapply every 2 hours.
Protect your skin my lovely readers!
Have a fantastic and safe spring break!
P.S. Did you know that the leading cause of advanced skin aging is due to sun damage? Did you know wearing sunscreen could make you look significantly younger if used on a regular basis?
I know I sure don't want to look wrinkly with deadly, cancerous lesions all over my face, but that's just me. 🤷🏻♀️
